Day 25 - Coming home to the cold!!

After numerous tears of goodbye that started early in the day, we set off to Sydney airport with Colette and Michael abut 12:30pm.

The tears started again at the airport, we were so sad to leave but we knew we would be back.

Tina had to go into the airport terminal to find a wheelchair for Helen and to ask Singapore Airlines for assistance.  The airline was the last check in desk - they were excellent.  They helped us with the bags and the wheelchair including allowing us some extra baggage weight - the bags weighed 60kg and we were only allowed 40kg.

Whilst we were waiting to check in we happened upon some news of a special passenger on the flight to Singapore - only David Beckham....  See our proof!!

We did not actually see him but understand he got mobbed in duty free!!

We wandered through duty free and purchased some gin and some more of the wine we got in the Hunter valley - Scarborough it is very nice.  After buying some sweets for work we boarded first onto the plane.  The seating was great for Helen and we partook of all the wine we could so we could sleep of course - this leg was about 9 hrs or so, the next was the biggy.

We arrived in Singapore with about 1/2 an hour to spare given that Helen had wheelchair assistance we had to ensure she was at the gate as soon as possible - they gave her a lovely yellow sticker to say she needed assistance - Tina always said she was special!!  After a quick dash to the smoking lounge (which was disgusting!!) and a run for cigs for Helen we boarded for our flight to Manchester via Munich.

Again the seats were good near the back with room for Helen to stretch her leg out.  Tina slept a lot of the way and when we arrived in Munich after numerous boughts of turbulance, the plane had to be de-iced after refuelling.  Munich airport got closed and the delays began!!

We were scheduled to arrive in Manchester at 7.20am but arrived at 9am instead.

What a shocker the weather was going from 30 to -4 was not good.

We were quickly home and have had the heating on all night for the past few days.  Helen has been to the Doctors who has sent her for an x-ray and we should know more next Monday.

This is the last entry.  We will miss this blog and hope that people have enjoyed following it.

Big love and Hugs

Tina and Helen xxxxxxxxxx
